Unity Through Humility

The following is a sermon I preached at my home church on July 25th, 2010 from Philippians 2:1-11, called “Unity Through Humility.” The point: there is no room for arrogance at the foot of the cross.

I remember well the first sermon that I delivered in Charleston, West Virginia. I studied for a month, prayed for a week and had everything arranged just right for my “debut.”

I was given 30 minutes to deliver my message. I had, at least 45 minutes worth of material ready. I was flying high and sure that this would be a “Billy Graham” type sermon with great results.

Fifteen minutes later, I was finished! I was 20 years old and learned a great lesson in humility that day.
