“We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars. Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt.” — Cooper
We keep looking down, when we should be looking up.
The pernicious promise of placing devices over our eyes will not help us see more clearly. We were handed daggers to hold, and now are being handed blindfolds we willingly put on.
We seek the universe, believing it to be a swipe and a tap just inches from our faces. It offers freedom and endless possibilities, always there for us to gaze down for the answers that might bubble up inside.
We’re molded and shaped and served a subtle message: don’t look up.
What if we ignored this message, rejected it, slammed it in the garbage can.
What if we looked up, and saw it.
Our place in the stars.
Our movement through the universe is seemingly a gentle slowness, yet reality is we are chaotically slinging throughout time and space.
Why are you here?
Don’t look down for answers.
