My thoughts echo what Muhammad and Becky wrote. Your writing is exquisite, the flow (opposite of tension) natural, and the callback to your daughter, lovely.
I loved this, Tim: "We cannot be sucked into believing that a frenetic pace means we are more worthy as human beings. Instead, we have to be willing at moments to slow down and perhaps even slam the brakes to pause, reflect, and make sure we don’t proceed before the defect is too far down the line."
I've been reflecting on my natural tendency to hurry and rush around. I don't want to look back on my life and realize it was one of rushing to get things done feeling overwhelmed all the while. This is a great reminder for me to slow down and evaluate. If I'm always rushing, maybe I'm trying to do too much? Or I don't like what constitutes my days and should reshuffle my priority list?
Thanks for writing and making me think. Your essays are getting better every week!
Your essays are getting better & better. Love the topics you're exploring.
One of my favorite signs of growth is when I stepped on the brakes well before I burned out.
It was then I knew I was stepping towards a healthier relationship with work.
And it felt amazing.
Means a lot coming from you my friend.
That circling back to your daughter as your next date. So good!
Thank you Becky!! :)
This one was so good Tim. Inefficiency might just be the biggest gift the modern parent can give to their kids.
I hadn't even thought of it that way...we often see it as something that is taking away from us, but it's a GIFT we must give, especially to our kids.

Thank you James! Encouraging. Just love writing things that are a JOY to read, and stick with you for awhile.
